    About the event

    In these workshops, we will focus on one topic: organizing abdominal tension and relaxing back muscles. We will do several exercises in different positions, checking how one exercise helps with the next. I invite you to a 2-day Feldenkrais workshop in Warsaw. We will take care of our health with simple and gentle movements, rest, relax, and improve fitness and daily functioning. The exercises will also help with later independent practice at home. Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, a physicist and judoka, developed a method of movement improvement in the 20th century in Israel, inspired by Eastern martial arts and how infants organically learn to move. He prepared hundreds of exercises for various daily activities like standing up, walking, or even eye movements. Benefits of practice: - Relaxes muscles and improves coordination, enabling free movement and greater range. - Reduces the effort required for movement and increases the desire to move. - Breathing becomes freer, and balance, including psychological balance, becomes more stable. - Facilitates focusing on one topic, deeper experiences, and more effective learning. - Excellent mental training. - Increases self-awareness and awareness of one's actions. - Provides new ways of moving and thus greater possibilities for action. - Helps in pain situations. For whom: Feldenkrais is a suitable method for anyone who wants to move better, develop, or recover, regardless of age or physical condition. The exercises are conducted without imitation, comparison with others, or critical judgment. Everyone performs movements independently, at their own pace, gently, paying attention to themselves, their feelings, and current capabilities. At any moment, one can stop, take a break, and rest. The event is recommended for people of all ages, including older individuals and those experiencing pain. The exercises are also a proposition for athletes, yogis, actors, dancers, physiotherapists, and all those who work with the body professionally or as a hobby. What the classes look like: The workshops consist of practical exercises. Between them, there are breaks and time for questions. Just bring comfortable clothing. We practice without shoes. Reaching hands toward the feet Sunday: 5. Raising legs without straining the hips 6. Leg circles to relax the back 7. Eye movements and abdominal muscle work 8. Rolling 9. Surprise Instructor: My name is Paweł Wójtowicz. I am a certified Feldenkrais Method practitioner. I have been practicing it since 2010. In 2014, I completed a 4-year accredited teacher training course in England. I am a member of the British Feldenkrais Guild. For eleven years, I have been conducting recreational workshops and seminars throughout Poland and abroad, dozens annually, including for students of the Music Academy in Katowice and Łódź and the University of Physical Education in Poznań. Additionally, I worked individually with children with cerebral palsy in Ukraine and Kazakhstan for several years using this method. In 2023, I wrote and published the book "Notes from the Floor" about my work and practice.
