The Wellness Workshop from the basics is designed as a holistic process that guides participants from understanding what wellbeing is, through experiencing and accepting emotions in the body, to planning concrete actions for the future.
During the meeting each participant builds a plan for caring for their own wellbeing. We teach through practice techniques that help regain contact with oneself, with one’s emotions and body. An important element of the workshop is also learning the habit of mindfulness in everyday life – as a basis for maintaining a good relationship with one’s body and emotions.
During the workshop:
- Awareness and knowledge – participants begin with psychoeducation to better understand the concept of wellbeing and the mechanisms affecting mental, emotional and physical balance.
- Diagnosis of one’s situation – using the “Wheel of Wellbeing” tool each participant has a chance to see how their life currently looks in different areas and which require the most attention.
- Experience in the body and emotions – elements of intuitive dance and authentic movement allow releasing tensions, feeling oneself better and recognising emotions that are often suppressed in daily life.
- Discovering values and direction – work with the values pyramid gives the opportunity to name what really matters and to build a foundation on which everyday choices and decisions can be based.
- Integration of knowledge and planning – the “Hero’s Journey” helps connect reflections from earlier parts and translate them into a personal story of change from which the participant draws practical conclusions.
- Working with emotions and mindfulness – a short psychoeducation about accepting emotions and a mindfulness practice (Body Scan + mindful movement) serve to develop tools for coping with stress and tension in everyday life, and to build a mindful attitude toward life.
- Summary and drawing conclusions – the day ends with reflection on what each participant wants to introduce into their life and how they can build their wellbeing on a daily basis.
