Movement Laboratories – Tomek Jimmy Kowalski and Katarzyna Tekielska Workshops and jam with live music 📅 September 14, 2025 (Sun), 6:00 PM–9:30 PM 📅 September 28, 2025 (Sun), 6:00 PM–9:30 PM Free admission, registration required for workshops We will start autumn with wildness in Contact Improvisation, guided by Tomasz Jimmy Kowalski: - Free flow of movement in relation to space and another person. - Through body awareness, you will gain tools for better communication and coordination. - The softness of a cat, the agility of a lizard, the multidirectionality of an octopus, the flexibility of a snake, or the movement of seaweed in water. - We will enter the world of nature, unleashing organic and free movement that will expand your body's physical capabilities. - Diverse acrobatic exercises providing new possibilities during partnering with another person or in solo practice. The soundscape for the jam will be composed by the wonderful Kasia Tekielska! Join us! The laboratories are open. You don't need dance experience to join us. Graduate of the Academy of Music in Łódź (choreography and dance techniques – bachelor's degree) and master's studies in Somatics in Dance and Therapy. He experiences and develops in techniques such as contact improvisation, contemporary dance, dance theater, traditional dance, and breakdance. Creator of the Harmony Art idea, combining dance, spiritual development, film, and photography, thus extracting art from the surrounding world, ensuring harmony between creator, audience, and form. Kowalski implements it through workshops, artistic projects, writing, and social activities. He develops in Poland and abroad (e.g., Portugal, Germany, Spain, Greece, France, UK, New Zealand, Guatemala), collaborating with theaters, organizations, and artists, including Chorea Theater, Rosanna Gamson, Arte Ego Foundation, Escola Superior de Danca, Helen Poynor, Ma-Uri Institute. Katarzyna Tekielska – graduate of the viola class at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk and Koninklijk Vlaams Conservatorium in Antwerp. She also plays the violin, sings, and composes her own music. She has participated in both classical music concerts and those related to other music genres. She has collaborated with many bands, including The Frozen North (post-rock), Ba Bu (original arrangements of covers for 3 voices and looper), and Emma Bonnici (folk, traditional songs). On her path, she also meets artists from other fields of art – she creates music for dance performances (performance cycle Connected, Body Art Foundation), inspired by painting and sculpture. She regularly connects with dancers, creating live music for improvisations.
