“Rite, Attack, Ride” (26 min 30 s) is the debut short film by Weronika Wysocka and Oskar Pawełko, made between 2021 and 2025. The project grew out of experiences of isolation, overload and the need to regain community, as well as resistance to systems that exhaust rather than support. The films tell of a group of characters undergoing a ritual of transformation: through performance before the camera, gesture, body and narrative.

Queer, feminist and anarchist threads appear here not directly but in a surreal visual language that dismantles hierarchies and familiar patterns. Each part of the series builds its own space full of disruptions, glitches, cracks and symbolic actions. The protagonists are hybrids of literary and cinematic references, operating somewhere in between: beyond realism, between what is real and what is imagined. Instead of a single story, a network of meanings is created by sound, image and body.

On Friday the film screenings will flow seamlessly into “Stream Night,” an event during which the artists involved in the film’s creation will enter into a performative dialogue with its emotional landscape. Film and live actions will merge into a single experience: a transdisciplinary, intergenerational ritual in the spirit of queer universalism, where differences do not divide but open the space for collective transformation.

During Stream Night the following will perform:

    • Oskar Pawełko & Andrea Bylińska
    • Weronika Wysocka
    • Delfina Tlałka
    • Alka Nauman
    • Andrzej Szpindler
    • Krzysztof Bagiński
    • Łucja Staszkiewicz

    Bio:

    • Delfina Tlałka — an interdisciplinary artist creating images, textiles and poetic texts. She is also a fashion designer. “Kus kus” is the name she uses for her artistic practice — intuitive spatial actions.
    • Krzysztof Bagiński — an artist and organizer working with sound, video and performance. Co-curator of the morning concert series “W Brzask.” As a sound artist and video maker he is closely connected to choreography and performance.
    • Andrea Bylińska — cellist, graduate of the Academy of Music in Poznań. She refined her skills with, among others, Prof. Jacob Shaw, Prof. Gary Hoffman, Prof. Sebastian Hamann, Prof. Elisabeth Fürniss, Prof. Niels Ullner and Prof. Benedict Klöckner.
    • Andrzej Szpindler — a sulky Jaruzel in jumanji and short shorts gulping cortisol from a cork helmet.
    • Weronika Wysocka — visual artist, performer and creator of experimental film forms, continuously engaged in a process of autoreflexive emancipation.
    • Alka Nauman (she/her) — experimental choreographer, director, performer and author. Her artistic practice is rooted in anarcho-feminism and choreographic work with absurdity, humor, textiles, as well as queer and antifascist archives.
    • Łucja Staszkiewicz — art critic, researcher and occasional curator. Graduate of the Faculty of Artistic Research and Curatorial Studies at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Co-author of publications on artist studios and curatorial practices.
    • Oskar Oksana Pawełko — a Berlin-based performer, writer and visual artist operating at the intersection of theatre, film and performative arts. In 2025 they received a danceWEB scholarship in Vienna. Currently studying at the Department of Applied Theatre Studies in Giessen.
