Swallow's Unease // the duo Markowska and Pawluśkiewicz

Swallow's unease — a premonition of something new: uncertain but inevitable — as if the heart knows more than reason and prepares to fly into the unknown. It is also the duo of improvisers Aleksandra Markowska and Joanna Pawluśkiewicz. The performance will be guided by a completely loose chain of associations, supported by many years of friendship and collaboration. They perform a show for which the audience does not need to provide inspiration — they look for what exists between them, what appears. We set out on a shared journey of over an hour in which we will meet people, maybe animals, associations, summons, reflections, adventures — which ones? All of that will be discovered on the spot here and now — it is impossible to describe the plot of an improvised show; the best thing is that it will happen only there and then.

• Aleksandra Markowska — improviser, vocalist. Founder of the Improvised Musical, with which she performs e.g. at Klub Komediowy in Warsaw. She plays in many improvisation theatres and has performed at the Del Close Marathon (NYC). She takes part in projects Hofesinka, Kolektyw Śmiesznie, “Nikt nic nie wie” aimed at children. She develops her own musical projects and, together with Małgorzata Lipka, forms the band Danusi Amarylis. She studied improvisation at iO Theater (USA) and Annoyance Theater in Chicago.



• Joanna Pawluśkiewicz — improviser, screenwriter. Graduate of Second City Chicago and iO Theater. She performs in projects Klaster, Babolejro, Kolektyw Śmiesznie, Nikt Nic Nie Wie. Author of the novels “Pani na domkach” and “Telenowela”, co-author of projects “Nowe legendy miejskie”, “Duży pies nie szczeka”. Author of the monodrams “Co modna pani wiedzieć powinna”. She co-runs the House of Nature and Culture in Teremiski in the Białowieża Forest.
