Taming the Sewing Machine Course! - classes for beginners
About the event
Do you have a sewing machine but don't know how to use it? Do you want to sew something for yourself or a loved one, but you've never done it? Or maybe you made a first, unsuccessful attempt and don't know what went wrong or why? In these sessions you'll tame the sewing machine and none of the problems above will affect you anymore.
Course includes:
- learning how to operate a sewing machine
- overview of the most commonly used stitches and their uses
- learning how to hem and gather with elastic
- one-on-one with the machine: discussion of the most frequent problems (thread breaking and tangling, needle breaking, fabric puckering)
- sewing an elastic-waist skirt — each participant will leave with a skirt they sewed themselves (various fabric patterns to choose from)
- We also welcome MEN — for you we provide sewing a pillowcase
We provide:
- sewing machines
- fabric and elastic for sewing skirts
- threads and accessories
- light refreshments and drinks
Location:
The classes take place in a spacious studio vis a vis CH Arkadia, a 2-minute walk from the tram stops for lines 1, 17, 27, 28, 33, 35, and an 8-minute walk from the Dworzec Gdański metro station.
