    About the event

    Have you already tried your hand at a sewing machine? Do you know it can be an addictive hobby but lack the knowledge and practice? Or have you never switched on a machine and wonder where to start?

    We invite you to an intensive patternmaking and sewing course!

    20 hours

    First weekend of February



    Program includes:



    • training on how to operate the machines available in the studio
    • sewing a simple project: a cosmetics pouch (practice inserting zippers)
    • discussing correct body measurement taking — exercise
    • discussing how to use a sewing magazine (size charts, markings, pattern map)
    • discussing essential sewing terms used in magazines, such as straight stitch
    • discussing rules for proper placement of pattern pieces on fabric and cutting
    • discussing basic sewing interfacing and notions and their uses (fusibles, interfacings, etc.)
    • learning how to cut and sew a dress/tunic or blouse, sewing it and finishing (the instructor will help with the choice)


    You will leave the course with a custom-made dress sewn by yourself.



    We provide:



    • access to sewing machines and overlockers
    • materials necessary to complete the exercises
    • threads, accessories — everything needed during the work
    • a separate work table for each participant
    • light refreshments: coffee, tea, drinks
    • professional instruction
    • an exceptional atmosphere


    Fabric for your own project should be provided by you; we provide materials to complete all exercises.
