Pattern cutting and sewing course (20h) - intensive weekend in March

Have you already tried your hand at a sewing machine? You know it can be an engaging hobby, but you lack knowledge and practice? Or maybe you have never turned on a machine and wonder where to start? Join a 20-hour pattern cutting and sewing course!

Program includes:

• Training on how to operate the machines available in the studio.
• Sewing a simple project: a cosmetic bag (practice inserting zippers).
• Discussion and practice of taking correct measurements.
• Overview of how to use a sewing magazine (size charts, markings, pattern layout).
• Explanation of essential sewing terms used in magazines, e.g. straight grain.
• Principles of correct placement of pattern pieces on fabric and cutting.
• Overview of basic sewing interfacings and their uses (fusibles, interfacing, etc.).
• Learning to cut and sew a dress/tunic or blouse, sewing it and finishing (the instructor will help choose).

You will leave the course with a custom-made dress sewn by yourself.

We provide:

• Access to sewing machines and overlockers.
• Materials necessary to complete the exercises.
• Threads and accessories — everything needed during work.
• A separate workstation for each participant.
