
When our lives rush like crazy, or change 180 degrees — for example after becoming a parent — it can be hard to stop. Or at least slow down — for a moment return to ourselves. Mindfulness is one of the methods that makes this possible.
You are invited to a class where we will talk briefly about mindfulness: how we understand it, how it shows up in our lives and how it doesn’t, and whether it seems interesting to us. Then we will try together, in the special conditions of children's presence, to practice mindfulness by doing a few simple exercises that might become an inspiration for your own exploration.
Some exercises we will attempt, if possible, to do in writing. We will try to look at our thoughts, reflections and experiences, pause in them and put some of them down on paper. We will work at a slow pace, with kindness toward ourselves and our emerging thoughts, without judging or censoring. The exercises proposed by the facilitator are a great introduction to a regular practice of mindful writing, reading or keeping a mindfulness journal.
