Karkonosze, Jizera Mountains and SkyWalk Trail [2 KGP peaks]

Weekend hike in the Karkonosze and Jizera Mountains.
We will summit Śnieżka and Wysoka Kopa — two peaks counted toward the Polish Crown of Mountains (Korona Gór Polski). We will reach the Wysoki Kamień viewpoint, which offers a panorama of the Karkonosze. Walk along the SkyWalk treetop path in Świeradów-Zdrój. We will see the picturesque 'Stanisław' quartz quarry.

PROGRAM:

• 21.05.2026
  - Meeting in Warsaw at 22:45, transfer to Łódź.
• 22.05.2026
  - Meeting in Łódź at 00:30, breakfast break in the early morning.
  - Preparation and hike to Śnieżka (1603 m a.s.l.) along the red trail through the Łomniczka valley; we will pass the Łomniczka Waterfall and reach the Dom Śląski mountain hut (break).
  - Ascent to the summit of Śnieżka — option to get a commemorative stamp; we will see St. Lawrence chapel, the High Mountain Observatory (distinctive 'discs') and on the Czech side the upper cable car station and post office.
  - Descent to Luční bouda (Czech Republic) — break; the hotel there includes, among others, the highest brewery in Central Europe (1410 m a.s.l.).
  - Walk to the Samotnia shelter by the Small Pond, descent to Upper Karpacz and view the Wang Church.
  - Distance: approx. 18 km (about 9 hours with breaks), total ascent 858 m, total descent 816 m.
  - Coach transfer to a guesthouse in Szklarska Poręba; check-in, dinner, overnight stay.
• 23.05.2026
  - Breakfast, transfer to the village of Jizerka (Czech Republic) and hike through the Jizera Mountains along the Izera valley; scenic rock formations, stops at Orle Station and the Mountainers' Hut.
  - End of the route at the historic spa house in Świeradów-Zdrój.
  - Distance: approx. 16.5 km (about 8.5 hours with breaks), total ascent 190 m, total descent 566 m.
  - Visit to the SkyWalk viewpoint and treetop path (height 62 m, nearly 1 km of boardwalk). Optional 105 m slide.
  - Return to the guesthouse, dinner, overnight stay.

  - Breakfast, check-out.
  - Walk along the red trail from Szklarska Poręba to the 'Wysoki Kamień' mountain hut (below the Wysoki Kamień summit, 1058 m a.s.l.) — panorama of the Karkonosze, Jizera Mountains, Kaczawskie Mountains and Rudawy Janowickie.
  - Viewpoint on the edge of the 'Stanisław' quartz quarry (Izerskie Garby, 1084 m a.s.l.) — the highest mining site in Central Europe; mining history dates back to the 13th century.
  - Ascent to Wysoka Kopa — the highest elevation of the Jizera Mountains (1126 m a.s.l.).
  - Continue along the green trail to Jakuszyce.
  - Distance: approx. 15.5 km (about 7.5 hours with breaks), total ascent 541 m, total descent 309 m.
  - From Jakuszyce transfer to Szklarska Poręba for lunch; return to Łódź around 22:00, return to Warsaw before midnight.
