APRIL CROCUSES IN THE TATRAS, CHOCHOŁOWSKA VALLEY, KOŚCIELISKA AND RUSINOWA POLANA 10-12.04.2026

We invite you to a two-day trip to the Tatra Mountains full of beautiful views and mountain emotions. After an overnight drive we will start the day on the trail, visiting Polana Chochołowska and the Kościeliska Valley, and those interested will be able to see Ornak, Smreczyński Staw or one of the Tatra caves. In the evening there will be dinner and a get-together. On the second day we will reach Rusinowa Polana and Gęsia Szyja; for those willing there is the option to climb Wielki Kopieniec. It’s a weekend full of energy, beautiful landscapes and Tatra atmosphere!

Plan of the trip:
We meet on Friday, 10.04.2026 at 23:45 at Plac Defilad (parking opposite Kinoteka). After gathering the group we head towards the Tatras.

DAY 1 (11.04.2026, Saturday):
In the early morning hours we will make a breakfast stop at a petrol station. Everyone will be able to change after the night on the coach and prepare to start the trail. After the break we head straight to the trailhead.

Two routes to choose from:

• Basic route:
  • distance: 15.6 km
  • approximate time: 5.39 h
  • total ascent: 687 m
  • highest point: Iwaniacka Pass, 1459 m above sea level

• Extended route (option to extend, e.g. climb Ornak, visit Smreczyński Staw or explore caves):
  • distance: 19.8 km
  • approximate time: 6.59 h
  • total ascent: 826 m
  • highest point: Iwaniacka Pass, 1459 m above sea level

Around 17:00 we meet at the Kiry parking lot and depart for the overnight stay. After arrival there will be dinner and an evening get-together.

Note: We hike without pressure — everyone moves at their own pace; the guide closes the group so no one is left alone.

DAY 2 (12.04.2026, Sunday):
7:45–8:45 – breakfast
9:00 – gathering by the coach
9:15 – start at the trailhead to Rusinowa Polana via Gęsia Szyja

Two routes to choose from:

• Basic route:
  • distance: 11.5 km
  • time: approx. 3.48 h
  • total ascent: 571 m
  • highest point: Gęsia Szyja, 1489 m above sea level

• Extended route (with ascent to Wielki Kopieniec):
  • distance: 14.9 km
  • time: approx. 5.18 h
  • total ascent: 886 m
  • highest point: Gęsia Szyja, 1489 m above sea level

After descending from the route at around 15:30 we set off back to Warsaw. Estimated arrival time at Plac Defilad: 22:30.

Trip price:
Price per person: 480 zł. The price includes:

• coach transport
• accommodation in 2-, 3- and 4-person rooms

Price does not include:

• remaining meals
• other costs not listed above
• entrance ticket to Tatra National Park

Please bring:

• comfortable shoes (long route)
• poles and other accessories that facilitate hiking
• provisions for the road: water, snacks (something sweet)
• clothing appropriate for weather conditions
• crampons depending on weather conditions
