Documentary screening about Teatr Ósmego Dnia [Teater Åttonde Dagen] directed by Joanna Helander and Bo Persson (Kino Koszyk) and a meeting with the directors. We invite you to a unique screening about one of the most important phenomena in the history of Polish theater – the legendary Teatr Ósmego Dnia. The film depicts the dramatic fate of the ensemble, which in the 1980s was forced to operate underground, then to emigrate and perform on stages in Western Europe. It is a story about theater and freedom, about exile and revolution, as well as about returns – during a time when Eastern Europe was undergoing radical transformations. Joanna Helander and Bo Persson accompanied the creators in Poland and in exile, documenting their artistic journey and existential struggles. 🎥 Before the screening, at 2:00 PM, we invite you to a meeting with the directors - Joanna Helander and Bo Persson. 📅 October 4th (Saturday) at 2:00 PM 📍 Rynek Starego Miasta 20 Free admission! The screening accompanies the exhibition “Joanna Helander. The Possibility of Recording.” More about the exhibition: https://muzeumliteratury.pl/wystawa-moznosc-utrwalania/
