Movement becomes the language of community – warmth and safety, and at the same time a way to free oneself from fear. Shivering, trembling transforms into an act of liberation, reminding us of the fragility and strength of human existence. In the face of an uncertain future, dance becomes an affirmation of life – Carpe Diem expressed in the rhythm of bodies and emotions. Outside the religious context, Tao can mean “path” or “way” in a general sense – philosophical or life-related. In this sense, Tao refers to principles and methods of conduct that lead to harmony, balance, and naturalness in life. It can be understood as a way of living in harmony with nature, intuition, as well as a philosophy of action that promotes simplicity, calmness, and fluidity. The performance will feature choreographies expressing emotions accompanying the struggle for identity and independence, as well as narrative fragments building a deeper context for the story being told. The HOTELOKO Company was founded in 2011 by Agata Życzkowska, actress, director, choreographer, and producer. Between 2016-2020, the artist co-created the collective with dancer and choreographer Magdalena Przybysz. She also collaborated with dancer and choreographer Wojciech Grudziński. Currently, she co-creates the team with Mirek Woźniak, Karina Szutko, and Maciej Feliga. The artist mainly operates in the field of new experimental choreography and performance. HOTELOKO Company creates artistic, educational, and social projects addressing topics such as ecology, women's rights, empathy, acceptance, identity, migration, travel, gender equality, queer, community, mental well-being, education, city. The main storytelling tool is movement, although the collective boldly incorporates words, images, and music into their performances. The generation of movement and the refined choreographic structure of dramaturgy are always leading. A characteristic feature of the team's works is unpredictability and engaging the audience to participate in the performances. The team received the jury award “Coup de Coeur” for the originality of the performance “Absolutely Fabulous Dancers” at the Quartiers Danses Festival in Montreal (2019) and the first prize – Grand Theatrical Consequence at the IV Festival Sopockie Konsekwencje Teatralne for the performance “Axiom of Choice” (2020). Agata Życzkowska's performance “LUXA” was also selected for the Polish Dance Platform 2024. 🌐 More information: https://www.hoteloko.pl/ https://www.facebook.com/hoteloko https://www.instagram.com/hoteloko/ https://www.tiktok.com/@hoteloko
