BOKino | "Losing Balance" and a meeting with Kaja Klimek

    About the event

A story full of emotions about dreams, ambitions, and the thin line between inspiration and manipulation. After the screening, viewers will have the opportunity to discuss the film with film critic Kaja Klimek. "Losing Balance" is the story of Maja – a young actress who, after years of sacrifices, loses faith in her abilities. Her life takes a new turn when a charismatic director with controversial working methods joins the acting school. Maja gets a second chance from him, but she quickly discovers that beneath the guise of passion lies manipulation and emotional games with the students. Will the young artists be able to stand up to the legendary creator and protect their own dreams? The film has received numerous awards at the 49th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia, including the Janusz "Kuba" Morgenstern PERSPEKTYWA 2024 award, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage award in the Film category, as well as distinctions for director Korek Bojanowski and actress Nel Kaczmarek.
