11:30–12:10 Disinformation in the European Union – how to defend against it?
12:10–12:30 Presentation of educational materials for European lessons
For the generation born after 2004, Poland’s membership in the European Union is as natural as the air. It is the taken-for-granted backdrop of their growing up, not a historical achievement. This naturalness, however, carries a risk: young people gladly enjoy the benefits of integration but often do not see the roots of the tree that produces them.
Our goal is to move from conveying dry facts to building conscious citizenship. We want to show how to lead a pupil from passive acceptance of reality to a deep understanding of it – from history lessons, through mechanisms of power, to effective counteraction against disinformation.
After the conference, participants will receive not only expert knowledge but, above all, a complete set of tools for school work. These materials are ideal for use in European lessons organized, for example, on the anniversary of Poland’s accession to the European Union (1 May) or on Europe Day (9 May).
Each teacher will receive materials divided into 6 thematic modules (ready presentations + quizzes):
