FRAME SCHEDULE:

- 10:30–11:00 – welcome and opening of the forum; summary of the Nationwide Competition for Early Primary Education Teachers “We Play Green – a botany lesson for grades 1–3”
- 11:15–12:30 – 1st round of workshops
- 12:45–14:00 – 2nd round of workshops
- 14:00–14:30 – coffee break
- 14:45–16:00 – 3rd round of workshops
- 16:00 – closing of the forum, collection of certificates
WORKSHOPS (to choose from):
- Wonders from plant seeds: art projects with seeds, leaves and sticks — ideas for durable, attractive plant-based artworks.
- Eco-printing – printing with leaves: contact printing technique that dyes fabrics, leather, paper; practical activity, result: hand-printed scarves.
- Terrarium in a jar: how to construct a mini greenhouse in a jar, which plants to choose and how to care for them; planting your own jar forests.
- At the market stall on market day – hear the vegetable-fruit concert: creating instruments from vegetables and fruits; an orchestra for amateurs and musicians.
- Botanical garden – a safe dive into the world of plants: nature education methods used at the PAN Botanical Garden in Powsin; discussion of the most common adult mistakes when introducing children to the world of plants.
- Nature stories based on the Maria Montessori method: practical tips on how to tell about the life, colors and functions of plants and lead young explorers.
- I look, admire, create — nature in art: combining visual arts with nature education, examples of works and practical exercises.
- Nature in maths, maths in nature: forest-plant task stations using plant properties to teach mathematics and study nature.
- Outdoor nature game in the Saxon Garden: field game with hidden tasks, learning about the park’s vegetation and curiosities; ideas to use in class.
- The secret life of plants – botanical experiments that engage children: simple experiments and work with living material, a Montessori-style story about plants for grades 1–3.
- Historical walk through the Saxon Garden: a walk through the Saxon Garden led by a Warsaw guide, learning the history and plant species.
- In Maria Pilecka’s garden: learning species from Maria’s garden, nature puzzles and the card game “In Maria and Witold’s Garden”; combining botany with Polish history.
- Herbal lesson of mindfulness – educational opportunities in working with plants: using herbaceous plants as educational opportunities, creating an herbarium, formulating research questions, linking nature, language, math and art education.
- Green board games: board games with nature themes; discussion on using games in teaching nature and mathematics.
ACCOMPANYING EVENTS:
- Exhibition gallery: art works on nature-botanical themes made by pupils in grades 1–3 (the exhibition is not a competition).
- Green café: a café co-created by participants; cared for by volunteers from Primary School No. 75 named after Maria Konopnicka in Warsaw.
- “We Play Green – a botany lesson for grades 1–3”: Nationwide Competition for Early Primary Education Teachers; an online publication with the most interesting proposals will be made available at the forum.
