How to teach Polish boldly in a world full of conflicting information, tensions and uncertainty? That is what “WordSphere” is about — a conference for Polish language teachers.
📅 March 18
This year’s event slogan will be:
“A school that has the courage to read the world”
The conference combines an introductory lecture with a series of practical workshops devoted to critical reading and writing. The lecture will show how to cope with uncertainty in education and how to develop interpretive competences — understood not only as skills, but also as attitudes.
During the workshops participants will work with literary texts, cultural texts and with seemingly “ordinary” messages present in everyday surroundings. The proposed strategies will help guide students toward deeper understanding of text, formulating conclusions and evidence-based interpretive writing.
WordSphere is especially meaningful to us because it coincides with the 10th anniversary celebrations of the School of Education PAFW and UW. The conference is organized with the support of the Fulbright Foundation and is part of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
