We warmly invite you to the B’cause Dance Company performance “The Turning World” choreographed by Richard Chappell. It is a unique journey into the world of movement, touch and interpersonal relationships.
“The Turning World” will be an exploration of time and the relationships between people. Our society is changing quickly, and the ever-evolving landscapes we experience as individuals often sweep us along, carrying us through a variety of experiences and emotions. In moments of stillness one can observe complex and subtle changes in others, in ourselves and in the communities to which we belong. Through tactile minimalism and choreography that swells, spirals and intensifies, “The Turning World” is an intimate exploration of the forces of the world that move us, and of the moments in which we can find calm. Performed by a company of dancers, the work asks how a group reaches moments of speed and motion and how touch can become a way to slow down and connect with others. Time is a measure that we all experience, each in a slightly different way, and the unique role of each performer reflects the diverse ways people move through their lives. The piece dynamically examines the fleeting ways people affect our lives and the feelings we create with those around us.
