On March 8 we conclude the CHOREOGRAPHY IN THE CENTER: PRACTICE course. It is an intensive educational program devoted to experimental dance practices, combining training, creative activities and critical reflection on art.
The jubilee 10th edition of the course was an opportunity for deep immersion in movement and composition, without the pressure to create one’s own works. The course was led by three choreographers: Aleksandra Borys, Katarzyna Kania and Maria Stokłosa, who invited participants to build a community around creating and experiencing dance and performance.
The basis of the classes was movement practice — acquiring knowledge through experience, reflecting on it and individual and group activities; the program included choreographic tools, methods of improvisation and the creation and experience of movement.
The course began with a 5-day integration workshop at Studio Burdąg in the Masuria region, and was then continued through 10 weekend workshops, mostly at the Centrum w Ruchu headquarters in Wawer, and after its closure hosted at CSW Zamek Ujazdowski in Warsaw.
