With the first signs of spring we invite you to another Dancing in the legendary interiors of Warsaw's Hotel Bristol!
That evening the hotel will be filled with dance music, the glow of lights and a fresh, joyful atmosphere of a city coming to life. It's a perfect opportunity to welcome spring on the dance floor — to the rhythm of timeless hits and surrounded by the young art of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts (ASP).
See you on the dance floor on Friday, March 13!
The musical sound will be provided by the Dance Orchestra “Melodia i Rytm” conducted by Jan Emil Młynarski and DJ Envee.
The dance orchestra “Melodia i Rytm” under the direction of Jan Emil Młynarski refers to the tradition of the dance halls of the 1940s and 1950s, when dance music was played with flair but also with great care for style and sound. The band's repertoire is based on Polish and American swing standards performed in the entertainment-orchestra format of that era — from elegant swings such as Duke Ellington’s “Take the ‘A’ Train”, through timeless dance hits like Cole Porter’s “Begin the Beguine”, to atmospheric classics like Consuelo Velásquez’s “Bésame Mucho”. The program is completed by Polish songs present in the postwar repertoire, including “Wspominałem ten dzień” with music and lyrics by Wacław Brzeziński.
Traditionally, during the dance in the historic Malinowa Hall we will present the work of young artists — students of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. The exhibition includes dance posters created in the studios of prof. Lech Majewski and Justyna Czerniakowska.
In the rhythms of tango, waltz, jazz and flamenco, students of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts tell about dance as one of the oldest forms of being together. The poster exhibition accompanying the next dancing at Hotel Bristol is a visual journey through the sources of movement and play — from the Argentine ports where tango was born, through the Viennese ballroom halls of the waltz, the African American roots of jazz, to the fiery Andalusian flamenco. Each of these dances carries its own story: migration, cultural encounters, social tensions and the desire for closeness. The student posters interpret dance as the energy of community, flirtation and dialogue — as a space where emotions become visible.
We can expect a night full of dance, music and art — a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of former dance halls, where conversations intertwined with laughter and the venue's unique aura.
Hotel Bristol, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Warsaw
Hotel Bristol in Warsaw is one of the most prestigious and historic hotels in Poland. It was established at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries at the initiative of Ignacy Jan Paderewski and from the beginning has been regarded as a symbol of elegance, modernity and the highest standards of hospitality. Its neo-Renaissance façade and Art Nouveau interiors quickly became an icon of the city. Key political events of the Second Polish Republic took place here, and the hotel's rooms were visited by the world’s leading figures from culture, politics and diplomacy. The hotel survived World War II and after a thorough renovation regained its former glory. Today, as part of The Luxury Collection, it remains a symbol of luxurious hospitality and timeless elegance.
Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw is the largest and oldest art university in Poland. It educates on average 1,600 people annually across nine Faculties.
