On March 8 we invite all women from Białołęka to celebrate Women's Day at van Gogha 1 together. Once again we joined forces with Scientific Reading Room No. XX to prepare a program filled with inspiring and interesting attractions.
Every woman is unique - each has her own passions, temperaments, dreams and experiences. This diversity is our strength. This year's program was prepared so that each of you can find something for yourself.
To start, we planned creative workshops: painting, where you will discover the world of color and emotions, and herbal, full of practical knowledge about the natural properties of herbs. After the workshops there will be relaxation and an author meeting with Bożena Walter and Zofia Turowska. The culmination of the day will be the monodrama "Goła Baba" performed by Joanna Szczepkowska.
Date: March 8 (Sunday), 10:30–18:30
Place: van Gogha 1
Registration: registration for events starts on Saturday 21.02 at 10:30. Tickets will be available at the BOK box offices (from 21.02, 10:30). All events are free of charge.

A unique workshop - more than painting. It is an artistic journey into yourself. In the daily rush we often forget our own desires. Here, taking the brush in your non-dominant hand, you will quiet the inner critic and let your intuition speak. From the created work you will learn how to set out for yourself, using hidden potential. The paintings will become a personal Compass of Dreams, indicating the direction of changes for the coming time. You do not need to know how to paint - good fun and the willingness to try something new matter.
Instructor: Magda Publicewicz - painter of geometric abstraction ChromaArt, lecturer in color psychology and author of projects combining art, architecture and human behavior. Graduate of sociology (US), art therapy (WSNS) and architecture (Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw). In her artistic practice she acts as a mentor and researcher of the impact of colors on the human psyche. She teaches painting, prepares artists for exhibitions, coordinates projects and opens spaces related to art.
Karina Rudzka - herbalist and phytotherapist, will talk about herbs that support the body during the cold and weakness season. She will present herbs that support immunity, alleviate runny nose, cough and fever, help with headaches and shorten recovery time after an infection. You will learn how to use them safely every day - from tea blends to simple home recipes. During the workshop each participant will have the opportunity to make a herbal mixture for immunity support and a fragrant salt for aromatherapy to take home.
Instructor: Karina Rudzka - herbalist and phytotherapist. She deals with the relationships between the human world and plants; she studies traditional herbalism and practical use of plants in cosmetics, medicine and cooking. A meeting dedicated to the autobiography of Mariusz Walter "Love and Television" - a story about a passion for television and the background of building modern media in Poland. The conversation will include Bożena Walter (Mariusz Walter's wife) and Zofia Turowska (editor and literary supervisor of the autobiography). The autobiography contains Mariusz Walter's typescript and memories of his wife and colleagues - intimate, moving and uncompromising.
Bożena Walter - journalist and television presenter, co-creator of Polish Television programs, including "Studio 2". Founder and president of the TVN Foundation "You Are Not Alone" from 2001 to 2016. She started her career at "Słowo Ludu", and was associated with, among others, Telewizja Kraków, Radio Katowice and Polish Television.
Zofia Turowska - reporter and writer, author of the books "Agnieszki. Landscapes with Agnieszka Osiecka" and "Nest. The Onyszkiewicz Family". Co-author of the reportage-document about the events at the Gdańsk Shipyard 1980 "Who let the journalists in here?". Author of numerous biographical and reportage books.
"Goła Baba" is a monodrama (one-woman comedy) written and performed by Joanna Szczepkowska. The actress embodies two different women competing as artists - an idealist practicing "pure" art and a representative of kitsch and brazenness. Both make contact with the audience, which cannot remain passive. The unexpected punchline puts the viewer before the question of whether the audience's laughter hides human drama.
