During the workshop, we will try to capture the unique atmosphere of the Royal Łazienki using collage—a technique that allows you to combine different images, textures, and colors into an original whole. We will start the meeting with a joint walk through the temporary exhibition "Łazienki in Delight" at Podchorążówka, where we will look at the visual side of the display—light, details, and the relationships between space and color. Then, as we head towards the Ermitaż Outbuilding, we will pay attention to how the surroundings change: the garden, architecture, and the rhythm of nature. In the second part of the meeting, we will create our own collages inspired by the Royal Łazienki—their tranquility, light, and sounds, as well as memories associated with this place. Using magazine clippings, colored papers, and various materials, everyone will try to build a composition that reflects their personal impressions and emotions. At the end, we will talk about how working with collage opens up new ways of looking at space and how a coherent story about a place can emerge from seemingly mismatched elements. The workshop is part of the program accompanying the temporary exhibition "Łazienki in Delight." Alicja Bielawska is a sculptor who creates drawings, installations, sculptures, and writes poetry. For the temporary exhibition "Łazienki in Delight," she prepared the installation "Soft Variations," inspired by fabrics from the Palace on the Isle. Her works, in which she uses materials such as fabric, ceramics, and metal, focus on the material sphere of everyday life and the relationships between objects, interiors, and memories. She also touches on the relativity of our perception and the role of memory. She incorporates elements of choreography and performance into her projects. She is a graduate of art history at the University of Warsaw, fine arts at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, and holds a PhD in fine arts. She was nominated for the "Spojrzenia" 2015 award—Deutsche Bank Award, and in 2016 for the "Polityka Passports" award in the visual arts category. Her works are in the collections of, among others, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, the Museum of Art in Łódź, and Zachęta—National Gallery of Art in Warsaw. With the exhibition "Clothed Home. Tuning in to Seasonal Imagination," she represented Poland together with CENTRALA and Aleksandra Kędziorek at the London Design Biennale 2021. The exhibition was later shown in 2022 at the Design Biennale BIO 27 Super Vernaculars in Ljubljana, Lisbon Architecture Triennale 2022, and at the Seoul Museum of Craft Art in 2025. She also collaborates with choreographers on performances, creating set designs and costumes. She is a lecturer at the School of Form, SWPS University in Warsaw, and at the Atelier Foundation in Warsaw. ------ 🖼️ TEMPORARY EXHIBITION AT THE ROYAL ŁAZIENKI MUSEUM "ŁAZIENKI IN DELIGHT" 📅 November 14, 2025 – March 15, 2026 Podchorążówka at the Royal Łazienki ul.
