We invite you to imagination-boosting drawing workshops for children with artist Marcelina Jarnuszkiewicz.
Date: January 22, 29 (Thursday), 2:30 PM
Duration: about 90 minutes
Meeting point: MNW Main Building – Main Hall
For whom: children aged 7–10 and their guardians
Participation rules:
Tickets available at the box office and online; tickets available from January 13 and 20. Online sales start on Tuesday two weeks before the event.
Description:
The biggest enemy of creative thinking is the fear of judgment. In the workshops we will not worry about whether something is pretty or well drawn, and we will not teach “correct” drawing. We will allow ourselves “ugly” creating — focused on enjoying the process of painting rather than the final result. We will search for elements of nature in the museum collections and consider how they would look in their natural environment. We will practice noticing beauty in what is modest, unexpected, and “ugly.”
About the instructor:
Marcelina Jarnuszkiewicz – illustrator, designer and author of many unconventional projects. She draws inspiration from nature; she leads original drawing workshops for children and a rugby team. Beyond rural life she travels by camper, exploring national parks and observing local European wildlife. She runs the Warsaw Historical Art Workshop of the Jarnuszkiewicz Family and is the creator of an award-winning collection of nature-inspired pins.
