Join the YOUTH GROUP of Adepts of the Krakow Dance Theatre for the 2025/26 season! The Krakow Dance Theatre has been active for almost 30 years. It is recognized and appreciated both in Poland and abroad. Through its versatile artistic, educational, and impresario activities, it stimulates local communities and builds a dance environment. It organizes events and produces performances that have been watched by tens of thousands of viewers. For years, the Krakow Dance Theatre has been educating hundreds of dancers, amateurs, and professionals. Education is one of the most important pillars of its activities. IDEA The youth group of Adepts of the Krakow Dance Theatre is a permanent group of individuals aged 14-18, interested in systematically developing the language of movement expression. Training takes place through regular practice in the form of movement lessons (twice a week) and choreographic rehearsals (once a week). The main "language" of work is broadly understood contemporary dance. We refer to aesthetics, techniques, and movement codes such as Polish contemporary dance technique, modern dance, physical dance, floorwork, release, improvisation, classical dance, and others. Key issues in the education process include: the body as a medium, embodied knowledge, the relationship between body and mind, functionality, organicity, deepening technique, and body awareness. The group was established in 2024 and achieved its first spectacular successes in its first year of operation! The youth group of the Krakow Dance Theatre was awarded in Krakow during the Festival of Small Theatrical Forms (3rd place in the Dance category), in Gliwice during the Review of Dance Theatre Forms "Przenikanie" (1st prize), and in Bytom during INO Dance at the Rozbark Theatre (special distinction)! WORK ORGANIZATION We work with individuals aged 14-18, without health contraindications to physical effort, who have experience in contemporary dance. We invite disciplined and open individuals in good physical condition who want to expand and deepen their previously acquired skills through the realization of complex movement tasks, choreographic phrases, as well as basic expressive, improvisational, and creative assumptions. Work in the Adepts groups takes place in an academic system – divided into two semesters – winter and summer. Classes will begin on September 22, 2025, and will last until June 19, 2026. The group will work three times a week, in 75-minute lessons. 📅 On September 22, 24, 25, and 29, free OPEN lessons will be held for those who want to join the group. These lessons prepare participants for the season and further work, and help build the group! Joining the group is only possible in September (winter semester) and February (summer semester). Participation in classes is declared on a semester basis! CLASS SCHEDULE - Monday, 16:30-17:45 - Wednesday, 16:30-17:45 - Thursday, 16:30-17:45 💰 FEE In the 2025/26 season, the price of a monthly pass is 400 PLN (payable from October). The monthly fee is fixed, regardless of the number of classes in a given month, and is part of the semester fee divided into monthly installments. LOCATION All classes take place in the studio of the Krakow Dance Theatre, ul. Grzegórzecka 69, 2nd floor (next to the Variete Theatre). INSTRUCTORS Organizational and substantive supervision of the group is provided by Yelyzaveta Tereshonok. Classes are conducted by dancers of the Krakow Dance Theatre and invited guests. Yelyzaveta Tereshonok – dancer and performer from Ukraine. Since 2014, she has actively collaborated with international dance and theater groups, including circuses from Peru, Chile, and France. She has participated in film productions in India and Malaysia. As a performer, she has appeared in performances by Ukrainian, Polish, Hungarian, and Spanish choreographers. She danced in projects of the Krakow Dance Theatre presented as part of the "Rollercoaster, young creators of sensations" program at the Cricoteka in Krakow. In 2022, she realized the performative installation "Dutch Window" and the performance "Translations" with the Krakow Dance Theatre. In 2023, she completed the Intensive Summer Dance Academy in Budapest. In 2023, she participated in the production of the performance "Shakespeare" (choreography by Eryk Makohon, Agnieszka Berdnarz-Tyran, Yelyzaveta Tereshonok), which received the Stanisław Wyspiański Theatre Award. In 2024, she performed in the "Treatise" performance (choreography by Milan Tomasik). She completed her master's studies at the Institute of Culture at the Jagiellonian University (majoring in Contemporary Culture Laboratory). Admission to the group is based on a practical assessment of the candidate's skills during the September open lessons!
