Contemporary Dance Course for Beginners Group START - Winter Edition

We invite you to participate in the winter edition of the contemporary dance course for beginners, Group START. The legendary, fully original course of the Krakow Dance Theatre has already been completed by over 800 people! Many of them continue to collaborate with the Theatre as part of the Adept groups, and some have gone on to study at theatre and dance schools in Poland and abroad. Education is one of the most important missions of the Krakow Dance Theatre. We work with the best educators, all professionally trained. We focus on regularity and professionalism! We emphasize consistency and individual stimulation of progress! This year's edition of Group START will include as many as 22 lessons! Classes will be led by dancers from the Krakow Dance Theatre. We invite adults (over 18 years old) who would like to gain basic knowledge and skills in contemporary dance to participate in the course. We encourage you to read the course information and contact us! ---------- - A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE COURSE This is an extensive workshop in contemporary dance, aimed at people without experience. Group START is the realization of the educational mission inscribed in the statute of the Krakow Dance Theatre. The key principles of work at the Krakow Dance Theatre STUDIO are programmatic and laboratory-based approaches. There is uncompromising emphasis on consistency, self-analysis, and individual stimulation of progress. Also important are dancer's work hygiene, punctuality, and deepening concentration. Although the lessons are generally separate units, they build a programmatically composed development path. For optimal work, classes are held in one fixed group, without participant rotation. ---------- - FOR WHOM? The course is intended for people without experience in contemporary dance. We invite adults, with no upper age limit. ---------- - COURSE GOAL The aim of the course is to introduce basic concepts and movement principles necessary for further dance education in the broadly understood field of contemporary dance. It includes preparation in terms of physical fitness (strengthening, stretching, vertical alignment, coordination) as well as basic body and movement awareness in space. ---------- 🗓️ DATES The course will start on JANUARY 7, 2026 and will last until MARCH 27, 2026. Classes are held twice a week, in one group. On WEDNESDAYS from 18:00 to 19:25 and on FRIDAYS from 19:35 to 21:00. All classes take place at the Krakow Dance Theatre studio (ul. Grzegórzecka 69). Meeting dates, including holidays and days off: January 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30, 2026; February 4, 6, 18, 20, 25, 27, 2026; March 4, 6, 11, 13, 17, 20, 25, 27, 2026; a total of 22 lessons. ---------- 💰 COST The cost of the entire cycle is 1300 PLN (payable by bank transfer within 7 days of receiving the course regulations, with the possibility of payment in two installments). ---------- - WHAT'S NEXT?
