In the heart of Kraków, right next to the Market Square, there is a place that for centuries has witnessed the most important events of our city – the Dominicans' Church. The rich, almost 800-year history of this place is invitation enough to visit the Kraków Dominicans.
Their cloisters are an excellent spot to learn about the order’s history and its outstanding figures: St. Dominic, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Vincent Ferrer. Inside you must not miss many monuments from different art periods, such as the Gothic tombstone of Filip Kallimach, the Renaissance-manierist Myszkowski Chapel, and the Baroque chapel of St. Hyacinth Odrowąż.
The Basilica of the Dominicans of the Holy Trinity in Kraków is not only a church – it is a true museum of art and spirituality, where every detail tells a story. Saints prayed here, philosophers debated, and works of art were created that we can admire today. An ideal place for a moment of reflection and for discovering Kraków from a different perspective.
