About the event

The history of Wawel Cathedral is inseparable from the history of Poland. For centuries royal coronations took place here. Rulers prayed here for great victories and offered votive thanks, and when their time came, their remains were laid here. This is not just a walk through a religious building — it’s a walk through Polish history.

  • Why are there mysterious bones in front of the cathedral and who do they belong to?
  • You will learn about the figures of Polish rulers, but also their human, anecdotal side.
  • You will visit the Wawel crypts and arguably the most famous bell in the country — Sigismund.
  • You will see outstanding works of art from different periods: the late Gothic tomb of Casimir Jagiellon, the Renaissance Sigismund Chapel and the stained glass windows by Józef Mehoffer.

And many, many more.
