    About the event

Dear Children, Dear Parents! We are launching a unique literary-theatrical project where your voices will decide the grand finale on the stage of the Groteska Theatre. Introducing "Engaged in Theatre" – a voting event through which one of the selected book series for preschool-aged viewers will be adapted into a play. Its premiere will take place in June next year, marking the culmination of our next artistic season. You can vote for one of six book series: - "Pomelo" by Ramona Bădescu (published by Zakamarki) – stories about a little elephant under a fluffy dandelion who explores the world and embarks on a journey. A subtle meditation on the world seen through a child's eyes, full of tenderness and wonder at everyday life. - Books by Susanna Isern – "The Best Soup in the World" and "Put Yourself in My Place" (published by Tako) – Spanish tales about friendship and animals, showing how small, seemingly insignificant actions can build true community. - "Elmer" – the best adventures by David McKee (published by Papilon) – stories of the iconic patchwork elephant that teach us that being different is beautiful, and the joy of life lies in the courage to be yourself. - Books by Rachel Bright – including "The Squirrels Who Squabbled" and "The Lion Inside" (published by Zielona Sowa) – rhymed tales about how a small pinecone dispute can turn into a great friendship, and how a lion isn't as scary as he's painted. - The "Felek and Tola" series by Sylvia Vanden Heede (published by Dwie Siostry) – full of witty humor and surprising dialogues about the everyday and extraordinary adventures of Felek – a fox with a big appetite – and the wise hare Tola. - Books by Przemysław Wechterowicz – including "Be Like a Tiger" (published by Ezop) and other stories about animal heroes – full of humor, warmth, and wise reflections on self-acceptance and distancing oneself from others' expectations. 📅 VOTING LINK: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1FAIpQLSeRej09o1g7fj/viewform Art Contest – My Favorite Book Character As part of the event, we also invite you to participate in a drawing contest titled "My Favorite Book Character." The task is to create an artwork depicting your favorite character from children's literature from the book series we proposed. The ten most interesting works will be selected by a competition committee appointed by the Groteska Theatre, and the winners will receive invitations to the play's premiere and a set of theatrical gifts. 📅 The contest is intended for children aged 4 to 7. We are accepting artworks until September 30, 2025, throughout the voting period for the book. Detailed information about the contest will be provided in a reply message after casting your vote in the competition. Get to work!
