I've been writing this text for months, yes, months—the participant list for this next edition of exploring emotions in a five-month ongoing format is half full, and yet, apart from the title, I haven't described it yet… And I see that it's the title, which 'came' to me so long ago, that has stopped me—with its announcement, doubts immediately appeared: Am I ready for it, are my experience and skills sufficient to hold space for dozens of people who want to embark on a journey into their hearts. I'm writing these words while drinking coffee at Królowa Przedmieścia, it's a little past 3 PM, the autumn sun is shining strongly through the window, I close my eyes… I melt into this sensation and suddenly tears flow down my cheeks, the kind that instantly let go of something… letting in a 'sea' of gratitude—for this moment, for life, for the opportunity to experience it in so many ways, because just a moment earlier, by manifesting my boundaries, I left a friendly but so toxic relationship for me. And I have this thought that maybe it is one of the keys to our hearts, and the tenderness it generates opens the gates wider for loving… for love??? Every sentence I write immediately gives rise to dozens of questions, and I could probably ponder with myself for months, maybe years, but I already know, from previous editions of Heartbeat®, how wonderful it is to seek answers together with you—in breath, in rhythms, in dance, in exercises, in shared meals during breaks, in courage and shyness, and… as I've observed for years, with incredible trust in the group process. "To love—to tenderly embrace with love…" This time, I would like to approach this map differently, I want to invite us to a deeper exploration of the sensations that accompany us when we DO NOT EXPRESS emotions, when we hide or suppress them for one reason or another… I feel that tenderly embracing their attention and bringing them into movement may show us another path to those that defend, protect, release… that is, the primal ones: fear, anger, sadness, joy, and compassion. Maybe this will allow us to see, and ultimately experience, the incredible potential of the power of courage, generosity, or forgiveness, created and released by these emotions. I know it won't be an easy road, but what wouldn't we do for love…?
