𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐒. 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔 We invite you to a series of nine workshops combining the somatic practice of Body-Mind Centering® with movement improvisation. Once a month, from October to June, we will explore the body as a space of movement, imagination, sensation, and presence. In the practice of Body-Mind Centering®, we will look at the multidimensionality of bodily experiences - from the quality of movement and rhythms to internal sensations and states of mindfulness. This practice supports the development of body awareness and deepening relationships – both with oneself and with others. Selected improvisational practices will allow us to creatively integrate and open these experiences to movement, dialogue with space, time, and the group. The series is aimed at people who want to deepen their contact with their bodies, develop their own movement language, and embodied expression. We create a space for regeneration, creativity, and meeting – with what is alive in us and between us. 𝐓𝐎𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒: The series is based on the somatic approach of Body-Mind Centering® – at each meeting, we will explore the body in motion through the prism of a different system, which will serve as a starting point for movement, improvisation, and creative practice. - 1. Senses and perception – field of contact | 18.10 What happens when we consciously let ourselves be guided by the senses in motion? - 2. Nervous system – sensitivity and regulation | 15.11 How does the body react and regain balance between activity and rest? Can we think with the whole body? - 3. Fluids – the watery body | 13.12 What changes in us when we allow ourselves to flow? - 4. Bones – dialogue with gravity | 17.01 What possibilities open up when bones give us support? How to combine grounding and stability with freedom and lightness? - 5. Organs – inner landscapes | 14.02 How do the heart, lungs, or spleen affect the sensation of movement and emotions? What happens when movement starts from within? - 6. Endocrine system – changes and expression | 14.03 From subtlety to intensity. How does somatic work with glands, such as the thyroid or adrenal glands, affect energy, presence, and expression in movement? - 7. Embryology – the body in process | 11.04 How can the beginning of life, recorded in the body, inspire our movement today? Can we feel timelessness and experience the division of cells? - 8. Basic movement patterns – beginnings of movement | 09.05 How do basic patterns open up space for play, experimentation, and a beginner’s mind? What connects our body memory before we started walking? - 9. Immune system – boundaries and exchange | 13.06 How do we negotiate closeness and distance in motion, openness to others, and care for our own boundaries? What happens when "I" and "not-I" meet? 📅 𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐙𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: - Registration through the form: https://forms.gle/5MEdyeUUrJntiEC19 - Dates: We meet once a month on Saturdays, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM 18 October | 15 November | 13 December* | 17 January | 14 February | 14 March | 11 April* | 9 May | 13 June - Location: CoDa Movement Studio, ul. 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐘𝐂𝐋𝐄, 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄: - Somatic practice in the Body-Mind Centering® approach. You will learn practices that support regulation and regeneration, deepen body awareness, and open new sources of creative expression. These are tools you can use both in your work and daily life. The series is open to both those who are new to the BMC® approach and those who want to deepen their embodiment process and previous experiences. - Improvisational practices (inspired by, among others, Andrew Morrish, Barbara Dilley, Nina Martin, Tuning Scores, and the personal practice of the facilitators). - Working with touch as a tool for communication and deepened sensation (hands-on/bodywork) based on a culture of consent. - Knowledge of the anatomical aspects of selected topics, which will serve as inspiration for further work and the embodiment process. - Movement solo, in duets, and in groups. We will move, dance, rest, take notes, talk, and follow our own rhythm. We will experience how movement arises from sensation and how expression emerges from movement. 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐖𝐇𝐎𝐌: For everyone interested in working with the body – regardless of experience. If you are drawn to movement practices, somatics, dance, performing arts, yoga, martial arts, or other forms of bodywork – this series is for you. Body-Mind Centering® is used in many fields – by people involved in movement, dance, yoga, acting, bodywork, somatics, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, education, voice work, music, art, meditation, or sports. 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐁𝐌𝐂®: Body-Mind Centering® (BMC®) is a somatic approach to movement and body awareness, created by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen in the 1970s. It is based on embodied experience – through movement, touch, breath, and voice – inviting exploration of how different systems and tissues (bones, muscles, fluids, organs, the nervous system, and others) influence movement, sensation, and presence. BMC® combines anatomical, physiological, and developmental knowledge with direct experience, allowing you to discover the body as a living, dynamic process. BMC® is also a relational and ecological practice, intertwining the internal with the external. https://sanatoriumsomatyczne.org/body-mind-centering/ 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐒: Yuliya Dzichkouskaya & Tomek Jagusztyn-Krynicki – somatic educators, performers, and creators of the Sanatorium Somatyczne Foundation. For several years, they have been developing their practice in the Body-Mind Centering® approach – they completed certified Somatic Movement Educator training and are currently continuing the second stage – BMC® Practitioner. They have over 1,000 hours of training and assisting in BMC® schools in Germany, Italy, Estonia, and Poland. They combine somatic practice with improvisation, new choreography, and theater pedagogy. They have co-created international projects combining somatics and ecology, including LEAF – a Polish-Icelandic program developing eco-somatic tools for creative people and activists – and two editions of the Eco-Somatic May Day, supporting people working on the Polish-Belarusian border. They have conducted workshops for migrants as part of the Overseas, The Art of Moving Forward, and Reflect projects. They are currently developing eco-somatic projects Ecological Movements and Symbiotic Movements.
