Cycle of somatic movement classes in the Body-Mind Centering® approach | Daytime group | October - December 2025 “Body-Mind Centering is an experiential journey into the living and changing territory of the body. It is a creative process in which we listen to tissues, cells, bones, fluids, organs, breath – and allow them to guide us.” — Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, founder of BMC Body-Mind Centering® (BMC) is a somatic approach (SOMA - living body) that explores how movement and awareness are rooted in the direct experience of the body. It is a process in which anatomical, physiological, and developmental knowledge supports multidimensional being within one's own body. BMC is the study of experiencing oneself through movement, touch, breath, directing attention, witnessing oneself, and how living life manifests through the body. These classes focus on MOVEMENT – exploring organic movement that arises from the qualities and specifics of tissues and organs. During the anatomical introduction, we look at images, draw on scientific and traditional knowledge, and deepen our understanding of the topic. Then we embody this knowledge, bring it into movement, observe sensations, recognize qualities, rhythms, pulsations – FEEL OUR LIVING BODY. The cycle includes exploration of the body's fundamental systems, and we will delve into: bones (with particular attention to the spine), joints, fascia, ligaments, muscles, the heart and circulatory system, lungs and breath, the nervous system. The program is designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge about the body. What is it like – to feel your bone structure in movement? How do my bones dance? How does the glide of fascia support my body's mobility? How do my joints move when I focus on the fluidity of synovial fluid? What do I feel when I hear my heart? How can I be inspired by the vitality of blood flow? And many other explorations that deepen body awareness, grounding in movement, and are – often – simply relaxing. The body finds its way to pleasant, nourishing movement; you don't have to push or force yourself; movement simply happens. These classes are for you if: - you want to deepen body awareness - you feel you are often “in your head” and want to be “in your body” more often - you experience tightness, stress, and tension in your body - you engage in movement, dance, martial arts, and want deeper grounding in your body - you work with the body and want to deepen and embody your knowledge of the body - you are interested in the anatomy of your own body, rooted in sensation - you experience mobility limitations, body freezes – after injuries, illnesses, due to age - you want to strengthen/build a supportive relationship with your body - you need time and attention FOR YOURSELF If you work with the body/movement (massage, physiotherapy, dance, yoga, pilates, martial arts, fitness) – these classes will be an opportunity to deepen and embody anatomical knowledge as well as develop movement skills. BMC strengthens the connection with the body on a very deep level, which translates into a new quality in any physical activity. The classes are gentle, but you won't be bored. The classes have a gentle dynamic and provide plenty of space to adjust the pace and intensity of movement to your own needs. I invite people with varying degrees of mobility; the classes are a good opportunity to explore movement possibilities in the face of health limitations: injuries, body stiffness, advanced age, chronic tensions. What we do in the classes: - Deepen knowledge about our body – on many levels - Nourish the body with movement, make joints more flexible, oxygenate organs - Shift attention from thoughts to the body, strengthening the ability to connect with the body - Regulate tensions in the body: overloaded areas release, frozen areas activate - Regulate the nervous and hormonal systems; the body finds calm and space, stress levels decrease - Give ourselves space to feel ourselves – physically and emotionally - Build a supportive relationship with ourselves, grounded in tissues and organs - Expand our ability to express ourselves through movement 📍 Organizational information: Studio42, ul.
