Part I"! The classes will be translated into Polish. You will also receive a certificate of participation signed by an accredited supervisor and trainer of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) and the director of the Schema Therapy School in the UK – Janis Briedis! 📅 When? - February 27-28, 2026 ⏰ What time? - 9:00-16:30 📍 Where? - Warsaw 💰 Price? - 1500 PLN What will the workshop be about? The workshop will present how to enrich schema therapy with bodywork techniques. We will focus primarily on demonstrating how to introduce bodywork methods when working with patients who experienced serious neglect, rejection, or trauma in childhood. During the workshop, you will learn what to do when the traditional therapy model based on narrative techniques does not work. You will gain a deep understanding of the role of the body in experienced trauma and learn how to recognize activated schemas and modes by tracking the patient's bodily reactions. This workshop is intended for psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals. Participants should have a basic knowledge of schema therapy. What will you gain? - You will understand the role the body plays in experiencing trauma – you will learn the neurobiological foundations of complex trauma and the mechanisms of identity fragmentation. - You will learn what barriers may arise in bodywork – both on the client’s and therapist’s side – and discover ways to recognize and overcome them. - You will learn to track signals from the body to better identify triggers activating schemas and modes. - You will learn the principles of safe work with difficult material to effectively support the client in staying within their "window of tolerance" during the processing of traumatic experiences. - You will acquire specific techniques for working with traumatic reactions such as freezing or submission, and with intense emotions – like anger, grief, or fear – using affect regulation resources based on bodywork. - You will develop awareness of your own body as a therapist, which will help you regulate yourself more effectively and attune more deeply to the client, creating a safe, co-regulating therapeutic relationship. - You will learn to use bodywork techniques in the context of dissociation to gently restore the client’s contact with emotions and the body. - You will enrich known imagery techniques and chair work with somatic elements that will deepen the therapeutic process. - You will learn somatic interventions supporting boundary setting and strengthening the sense of identity, which is especially important when working with people after relational trauma. - You will facilitate the development of the embodied Healthy Adult Mode – both in the client and in yourself as a therapist – by integrating work with the body and emotions.
