The series includes 11 one-day workshops dedicated to in-depth somatic bodywork in the Body-Mind Centering® approach. Each module serves as both an introduction and a development of somatic work. You can participate in selected modules, but I recommend joining the entire series to fully experience the process. During the meetings, you will learn the basic principles, language, and practices of BMC®, which you can use in everyday life, creativity, and professional work. Body-Mind Centering® (BMC®; more: https://www.bodymindcentering.com/) is an approach to working with the body and movement, combining anatomical, physiological, and developmental knowledge with our own direct bodily experience. Through movement, touch, somatic embodiment practices, and mindfulness of the body—physical, emotional, mental, and energetic—we will explore how developmental processes, bodily systems, and cycles interact, influencing our daily presence and functioning. We will look at various body systems and structures—from senses, bones, fluids, fascia, connective tissues to the nervous and endocrine systems—discovering how each shapes our movement, emotions, perception, and way of being in the world. We will work on how individual systems and their processes can support resilience, regulation, regeneration, and integration, strengthening us in creative, relational, professional, and personal activities. We will: - experience anatomy through movement, touch, somatization, and working with others, - discover how our body organizes itself in movement from early developmental stages to daily sensory integration processes and the functioning of our nervous system, - learn what supports our mindfulness and regulation—as a group and individually, - explore ways of moving and mindfulness that support our well-being, regulation, rest, agency, and action, - Dance, contact improvisation, authentic movement, and meditation will be integrating practices—connecting acquired knowledge with creative expression. *Somatization refers to the real, sensory feeling of the body. Directing attention to what is anatomically explored (scientifically or experientially) is one of the somatic paths that allow us to build a bridge to real bodily experience. Anatomy and expanding the imagination of how our body is built is one of the paths to building a relationship with our own body. In the BMC® approach, we learn from the perspective of our own bodily experience, e.g., how I experience the movement of fluids, breath, or how the nervous system responds to touch. It is a path to deepening the relationship with the body and discovering its potentials, focused on the process rather than achieving a goal. More than stating, we ask what I experience and where these individual experiences are shared. Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, creator of BMC®, says that somatization is learning who we are through embodied experiencing of our systems.
