Twenty years ago sisters Malina and Jagoda fell in love with the same man. Fabian crushed Jagoda’s love and married Malina. The sisters’ feelings turned into a long-standing resentment. Despite the passage of years, their wounded souls still cannot heal.
After an unsuccessful marriage, Jagoda returns to her hometown. In the cottage under the old spruce — the sisters’ family home — she tries to create a safe home for a child she has taken in. But the past does not let itself be forgotten. Fabian appears in her life more and more often — he wants to regain lost dignity, or perhaps... something much more?
Malina finds fulfillment in motherhood, but overwhelmed by duties and gray everyday life she forgets about herself. She is glad for her sister’s return, but cannot deal with jealousy, especially when it turns out that Fabian is only a gilded, not a golden, fish. At the moment she most needs support, she is left alone — with a guilt she has been unable to bear for years.
When fate throws the sisters back into the middle of dramatic events, they will both realize that the greatest storms come when it seems that everything is finally starting to settle.
Today both of them are afraid of everything: jealousy, regret, and secrets that could destroy their families.
Will the sisters find their way back to each other before the past separates them forever?
