The practice focuses primarily on strengthening and balancing the flow of energy (qi), releasing stagnation, and clearing energy channels. In the "Flying Crane" style, we focus on the lower energy reservoir (dantian), which is the main energy center. Regular practice increases immunity and vitality, restores health and balance on the physical, emotional, and mental levels. Yi Jin Jing – one of the oldest and most popular Qigong styles in China, dating back to the 6th century AD. According to legend, this movement system was created in the Shaolin monastery. The practice consists of 12 sequences performed slowly, consciously, in harmony with the breath. Soft and gentle movements alternate with more dynamic ones. The exercises strengthen and make tendons, muscles, joints, and fascia more flexible, improve posture, support joint and spine regeneration. The practice regulates the nervous system, strengthens vitality and the function of internal organs, balances yin and yang. It calms, improves concentration, and develops deep body awareness. According to Taoist tradition, this practice is meant to transform not only the body but also the "essence" of a person, preparing for deeper meditative states. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Dorota Batorska – Qigong teacher, art therapist, drama trainer. She leads Qigong classes as well as personal development workshops with elements of intuitive movement, drama techniques, creative arts, and meditation. Her passion is conscious work with the body, expression through dance and movement. For years, I have been creating spaces where art, movement, and mindfulness meet with work on body, mind, and emotional awareness. I am close to practices that combine personal development with creativity and care for well-being. Qigong practice opened me to a deeper understanding of the relationship between body, spirit, and mind. It showed me how important a strong and free flow of energy in the body is for health, and how it translates into quality of life and psychophysical condition. MY TEACHERS: I started learning Flying Crane Qigong in 2006 with the master of the Beijing Qigong Association – Liu Zhongchun, co-creator of this practice and author of the first Chinese textbook on the subject. Flying Crane is a simplified form of ancient practices, adapted to modern times and current health problems. Between 2006-2009, I participated in several training camps with Master Zhongchun and instructor trainings. In 2022, I completed Dragonfly Qigong instructor training with the creator of this style, Steve Green, in Spain (student of Iain Armstrong). In 2022, I trained in Italy in Yi Jin Jing Qigong with master Giuseppe Paterniti, who has been exploring the secrets of Taijiquan (Chen style) and dozens of Qigong styles with the greatest Chinese masters for over 30 years. In 2019, in Tokyo, he received the title of best international Qigong teacher.
