Wawer Cultural Center Radość Branch and the EuroJAZZ Foundation invite you to the educational concert “Jazz for Children – Saxophone”.
The saxophone, a metal instrument invented in the 19th century by Adolphe Sax, belongs to the woodwind family. Children will learn why that is and hear how wide the palette of emotions expressed by the saxophone is: from romantic ballads, through energetic improvisations, to wild free-jazz sounds. The saxophone is considered, alongside the trumpet, one of the most jazz-like instruments.
The “Jazz for Children” project began as a series of music workshops introducing preschool children to jazz music and instruments characteristic of jazz.
About the presenters: Magdalena Este — singer, pianist, composer and voice coach; she has experience working with children (music workshops, children’s theater productions, musical education classes). She held the chair of voice at Vijaybhoomi University in India. Jarosław Kaczmarczyk — graduate of the Academy of Music in Kraków; as a session and orchestral musician he has collaborated with many conductors and ensembles, and is a member of the big band Tribute To Polski Jazz.
We warmly invite you.
