Join us for workshops on wielding historical weapons! Did you know that fencing is not only an Olympic sport but also a living tradition that spans hundreds of years? During the workshops, you will have the chance to try fighting with a sword and buckler, a longsword, a combat saber, and a rapier with a parrying dagger. We will present the weapons and their historical background, followed by practical exercises. You will learn how to perform cuts, thrusts, feints, and parries, as well as more sophisticated techniques dating back to the 13th century! The workshops will be led by multi-medalists of historical fencing competitions and instructors from the Academy of Fencers: Mikołaj Kołodziej and Piotr Janeczek. Anyone can participate in the workshops, regardless of skill level. No prior fencing experience is required. We provide training equipment. 📅 Time and place: Sunday, October 5th, 11 AM–3 PM.
