Impro! Series of improvisation workshops: March 6June 2026

Theatre, music and movement workshops for youth aged 12 to 17. The classes aim to develop imagination, creativity, stage improvisation skills and spontaneity. They are based on a variety of improvisation methods 6 from traditional to modern forms of stage expression.

Classes take place once a month, usually on Thursdays or Fridays between 17:00 and 18:15. Single workshops can be attended.

Program (spring):

• March 6 theatrical improvisation workshop inspired by works of art
  Date: 19.03.2026, 17:00
  Title: Art in Motion
  Description: Visual art can become the beginning of a theatrical story. During the workshop participants will be inspired by selected works of art, bring paintings to life, consider what a sculpture would say, and transfer characters, gestures and compositions to the stage.
  Facilitation: Luna Sawka 6 actress, puppeteer, visual artist, vocalist and theatre scholar; since 2021 an actress at Teatr Figur in Kraków, she runs theatre and art workshops, focusing on theatre of form and integration of different art fields.
• April 6 free musical improvisation workshop

  Title: From Gesture to Sound
  Description: Free improvisation is composing music in real time by integrating intuition and experience. Open conduction improvisation workshop, also available for people without experience and without instruments 6 participants will learn basic signals, bring instruments or any sound-producing objects and together create an orchestra.
  Facilitation: Paulina Owczarek 6 Kraków saxophonist and improviser; originator and founder of Krakow Improvisers Orchestra.
• May 6 movement improvisation workshop (date to be announced at the end of March)
  Date: to be announced
  Title: Movement. Play. Presence.
  Description: A shared movement journey restoring play into the space 6 movement as adventure, dialogue and experiment. The workshop trains readiness for what is new, openness, imperfection and ease.
  Facilitation: Yelyzaveta Tereshonok 6 dancer, performer and movement teacher; practice includes floorwork, soft acrobatics and movement storytelling; collaborates with Kraków Dance Theatre, performs internationally, completed a masters degree at Jagiellonian University and the Intensive Summer Dance Academy (CEDT, Budapest).
• June 6 circus improvisation workshop

  Title: The Art of Spontaneity
  Description: A workshop based on play and collective action 6 ice-breaking warm-ups, co-creating spontaneous scenes and circus acts, learning to listen and respond to a partner; through movement and voice participants will discover how to tell a story without prior preparation. Only openness and willingness to play are needed.
  Facilitation: Agnieszka Kolanowska 6 actress, pedagogue, theatre scholar and speech therapist; recipient of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage scholarship (2022), collaborated with Teatr Figur Kraków, Klub 303, Fundacja Hipoterapia and Fundacja Czerwone Noski; runs artistic and general development workshops for children.
