You are cordially invited to the second week of the 2026 winter retreat in Poland, where Agata Hae In JDPSN will teach.
Agata Hae In JDPSN received inka (permission to teach) from Zen Master Joeng Hye in April 2023. She has practised meditation since 2000, spending early years in the Soto Zen lineage in the tradition of Roshi Jakusho Kwong. For 15 years she underwent traditional Zen training, living in temples and centres in Poland, the USA and Korea, where she received monastic ordination. She spent over 4 years in silent retreats. Currently, as a lay person, she hosts the podcast “Jasny Umysł – Buddyzm, nauka, kultura” (Clear Mind – Buddhism, Science, Culture).
For eight years, as a member and director of the European Office of SZKU, she supported democratic changes in Sangha management. She holds master’s degrees in philosophy and psychology and works in mental health, addressing issues such as spiritual bypassing, dissociative states, and the influence of body and breath on concentration and clarity of mind. She is associated with Warsaw and Gdańsk. The retreat is open to anyone who wants to begin or continue the practice of meditation rooted in the Korean sŏn tradition and centered around the teachings of Zen master Seung Sahn DSSN, founder of the Kwan Um School. Participation is possible from a minimum of three days (Entry II) up to four weeks.
There will be two one-on-one interviews with the teacher during the weekly session.
Are you new? You will get all necessary instructions at the introduction on the day the retreat begins. Beginners are encouraged to attend the abbreviated session, which begins on Thursday at 18:00 and lasts until Sunday.
