A discussion on “Women in Tango”: their significance, role, history and influence on the development of tango culture.
The first part of the meeting (approx. 55 minutes) will include a conversation combined with a dance demonstration by maestros Diego Gauna and Monika Matera. For the first time in Poland! They are regular judges of the finals of the world’s most prestigious competitions, such as Mundial de Tango, Campeonato Metropolitano or Tango BA Festival. With over 25 years of teaching experience they have trained a whole generation of professional dancers and teachers who continue this tradition around the world.
Dipi Kvitko is one of the most respected tango guitarists in Argentina. He performs on international stages, collaborating with leading artists from Buenos Aires. He combines the traditional sound of tango with a modern interpretation.
The artist also has a personal connection to Poland – his grandparents came from Warka, from where they emigrated to Buenos Aires in 1928. The performance in Poland will be for him a special, symbolic return to his family roots.
