Program 2 of Polish Radio celebrates its 89th anniversary on March 1 and on this occasion invites you to a special concert in the Witold Lutosławski Studio.
📅 March 1 — Program 2 of Polish Radio's 89th anniversary
On the studio stage Piotr Pawlak will perform — an outstanding pianist of the younger generation, winner of Program Two's listener poll “Uchem słuchaczy”, who during the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition impressed the audience with his sensitivity and mature interpretation. The artist, laureate of the 2nd prize at the II International Chopin Competition on Historical Instruments, will play an Érard piano from 1858.
He will be accompanied by the Arte dei Suonatori quintet — a chamber formation of an orchestra specializing in historical performance.
Piotr Pawlak — one of the most versatile Polish pianists of the younger generation, laureate of prestigious competitions, including winner of the Maj Lind International Piano Competition in Helsinki and laureate of the 2nd prize at the II International Chopin Competition on Historical Instruments. He has performed on renowned stages in Europe, Asia and North America.
Arte dei Suonatori — an orchestra founded by Ewa and Aureliusz Goliński, for over three decades among the leading Polish ensembles specializing in performance of 17th- and 18th-century music and early Romantic repertoire on historical instruments.
