Touch develops earlier than all other senses and gives us a huge range of sensations – from pleasure to pain. It is an indicator of our emotional states and the messages conveyed by touch.

Through touch or a caress we learn the comfort boundary of another person and show our attitude toward them. With its help one can also convey and identify a whole spectrum of emotions without words or glances. A hand’s caress is most often the first bodily contact with another person and often leaves an indelible impression.

People need to touch others and be touched to communicate feelings, help, receive or give. Touch is at once very simple and very complicated, so it is necessary to recover, understand, and refine this bodily language.

Touches improve our emotional universe and their INFINITY allows us to live and feel truly.

The performance TOUCHES by TEST Dance Theatre shows touch in various forms: sensual, caring, emotional, breaking, sometimes painful and frustrating, yet still positive. It is a reflection on the relationship between corporeality and shame, love and power, tenderness and strength. A dance story of unfettered caresses with a hint of eroticism to spark imagination and provide sensual impressions. Sensual music inspires movement; contrasting dance elements amplify and intensify the experience and reception of the piece.

Touch, caress, hug, embrace, scratch, hold in your arms!
