Looking for a Valentine’s idea nearby, in your own neighborhood, other than a candlelit dinner? We invite Wilanów residents to the Wilanów Cultural Centre for an intelligent, subversive and very funny comedy "Quartet for Two" by Anatoliy Krym. This is the fourth premiere of Teatr IKS — a group that was born in Wilanów out of the amateur passion and energy of local residents.
The theatre was founded several years ago following a casting announced by the Wilanów Cultural Centre and has been steadily developing ever since, gaining an ever-growing audience. Moreover, two of the actors in the performance are residents of our district, which makes this event feel even more "ours."
"Quartet for Two" tells a story in which love slips out of patterns and emotions play false and unexpectedly beautiful notes. Guests unexpectedly appear in the home of an underrated composer and his wife, turning their ordered (or perhaps only seemingly ordered?) life upside down. A young muse, a mysterious man and questions that sound especially relevant on Valentine’s Day: Does love have an age? Does passion know boundaries? Is it easier to be faithful... to yourself or to another person? It is a comedy about relationships, desires and illusions — light, frivolous, at times very spicy, but also surprisingly accurate in its observations of male-female relations.
Laughter alternates with reflection here, and an unexpected ending remains in memory long after the last applause. An ideal suggestion for a Valentine’s evening for two, but also a great opportunity to support local creators and see how culture is born and develops in Wilanów.
