
KAZIUKI is a fair organized in honor of St. Casimir, the patron saint of Lithuania. Its origins date back to the 17th century. This is a unique event that attracts regional craftsmen, folk artists, musicians, and master chefs. Lithuanian kvass and bread reign at this colorful celebration. Words cannot describe it. You have to taste and listen! You have to experience it! 📝 REGISTRATION: https://poludnik21.pl/kaziuki-wilenskie-kaziuki 📅 PROGRAM: - DAY 1, MARCH 6, 2026 (FRIDAY) Gathering of participants on March 6, 2026 (Friday) at 6:00 AM in the parking lot in front of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw (parking in front of the "Kinoteka" cinema). Departure towards Vilnius at 6:10 AM. During the journey to Vilnius, we plan one longer break at a gas station with a food court. Planned return to Warsaw on March 8, 2026 (Sunday), around 9:00/10:00 PM. The trip to Vilnius will be filled with stories about the complex history and relations between the two neighbors, Poland and Lithuania. - CHURCH OF ST. PETER AND PAUL – we will begin our tour of Vilnius with the breathtaking church in Antakalnis. Its interior is adorned with rich stucco decorations. - RASOS CEMETERY – here, together with a guide, we will learn about the now non-existent city through the prism of its former residents. We will visit, among others, the resting place of Marshal Józef Piłsudski's heart and his mother, the grave of Joachim Lelewel, Euzebiusz Słowacki. - Accommodation at the *** Old Town Trio Hotel in Vilnius Old Town in double rooms. - For those interested, an evening walk through Vilnius Old Town. - DAY 2, MARCH 7, 2026 (SATURDAY): Breakfast, continuation of sightseeing in Vilnius. - VILNIUS – on the second day, we will start with the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn – one of the city's most important symbols. The famous painting was prayed before by, among others, the young Mickiewicz and Piłsudski. Next, we will visit St. Teresa's Church, the Church of the Holy Spirit, see Town Hall Square, Vilnius University, the Presidential Palace, Cathedral Square with the monument to Gediminas and the Archcathedral Basilica. Inside the Basilica, we will see, among others, the Chapel of St. Casimir (the so-called Royal Chapel), and we will also approach Castle Hill – also known as Gediminas Hill. - After sightseeing, free time at the fair and/or continuation of sightseeing, during which we will set out for the famous Užupis (the artists' district) and the Three Crosses Hill (viewpoint). - Overnight stay in Vilnius - DAY 3, MARCH 8, 2026 (SUNDAY): Breakfast, check-out from the hotel. - SOROK TATARY – this is one of the oldest Tatar settlements in Lithuania. Here we will tell you about the beginnings of Tatar settlement in the lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the traditions of the "Lipka Tatars." We will see a wooden mosque (if available, also inside) and a Tatar mizar (cemetery). - TRAKAI – we will visit the only castle in this part of Europe located on an island. After returning to the mainland, we will head towards the famous Karaite kenesa to learn more about the history and culture of the Karaites who were brought here at the end of the 14th century. - After sightseeing, a meal break at a traditional Karaite restaurant, where you can taste the famous kibinai (at your own expense). - Around 3:00 PM (local time), departure for the return journey.
