Trip to Silesia, where we will tour the oldest mining undergrounds in Europe with a guide, take a boat ride in the Luiza Adit, and visit Nikiszowiec – the most picturesque district of Katowice. PROGRAM - Meeting in Warsaw at 05:30 at the stop on Emilii Plater 47 - On the way, we will pick up participants from Łódź – meeting at 07:45 at the BP station on Kątna 1, where we plan a breakfast break - Transfer to Zabrze, where we will visit the Queen Luiza Adit, a unique example of 19th-century engineering, a place that shaped the industrial character of the region. Its history dates back to 1791, when Zabrze became one of the most important centers of hard coal mining in Upper Silesia. During the tour, participants traverse a labyrinth of underground corridors, learning about old methods of extracting "black gold" and the daily life of working underground. An unforgettable highlight of the program is a boat trip along one of the longest underground water sections in Europe. The adit maintains a constant temperature of about 10°C, ensuring pleasant conditions for sightseeing all year round. - Nikiszowiec is one of the most unique and atmospheric districts of Katowice, listed as a Historic Monument of Poland and recognized as a gem of the region's industrial heritage. It was built between 1908-1919 as a model workers' housing estate for the families of miners from the "Giesche" mine, designed by the Berlin architect brothers Zillmann. It is characterized by brick tenement houses with inner courtyards and narrow streets.
