About the event

We invite you to discover the most interesting corners of the Ciężkowicko–Rożnowski Landscape Park.

  • Walk among the picturesque sandstones of the Petrified City.
  • Enter the observation tower on Bruśnik (Styrka, 420 m asl) with views over the Rożnowski Foothills.
  • Diable Boisko — the only rock arch in the Polish Beskids.
  • Visit Ignacy Paderewski's manor in Kąśna Dolna.
  • Walk through the Old Town in Tarnów.

Program of the day:

  • 01:30 – meeting in Warsaw, stop at ul. Emilii Plater 47
  • 04:00 – meeting in Kielce, Orlen station ul. Łódzka 266

Breakfast break and transfer to Ciężkowice. The Petrified City is the largest natural attraction of the Ciężkowicko–Rożnowski Landscape Park; in 1931 it was designated a natural monument, and since 1974 it has been under protection as a reserve. On the complex, covering about 15 ha, erosion and weathering have shaped fanciful sandstone forms. The largest rock is Grunwald (a name given on the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald). On the trail we will see, among others, the Eagle, the Piano, the Mushrooms, the Turtle, the Little Hell, the Badger, the Pyramids, Fox Gorge, the Hermitage, Paderewski's Tower, the Gypsy and the Little Mushroom. From the clearing there is a view of the Grybów Mountains and the Sądecki Beskid. The route ends at the Rock with a cross with a panorama of Ciężkowice and the Biała Valley.

Then continue along the blue trail to the geological monument – Witches' Gorge: a deep rock fissure about 40 m long and about 4 m wide, with sandstone walls, and at the end an overhanging wall 14 m high from which a stream flows creating a waterfall. Distance approx. 3 km (about 1.5 hours).

Transfer to Bruśnik and climb the observation tower on the slope of Styrka (420 m asl). The tower is 23 m high and has five viewing platforms.

Walk the blue trail through the village of Pławna to Diable Boisko – the only rock arch in the Polish Beskids. Descend the green trail to Kąśna Dolna and visit the 19th-century manor of Ignacy Paderewski, located in a picturesque park. This is the only preserved estate in the world where the famous composer lived and created. Distance approx. 6 km (approx. 3 hours, with breaks).

Transfer to Tarnów: Main Market Square with the Renaissance town hall, restored tenement houses. Free time for a walk through the Old Town and lunch.
