I invite you to a walk through the mysterious Jewish necropolis, a place hiding extraordinary stories and a tragic past, which stands as a testimony to the community that helped shape Warsaw and Poland.
The cemetery on Okopowa Street is the burial place of many outstanding figures: clerics, scholars, industrialists, artists, writers, soldiers and social activists. It also constitutes a unique gallery of various forms of sepulchral sculpture.
During the walk we will learn, among other things:
Start: 22.03 (Sunday), 11:00 — place: the small square by the ticket office of the Jewish Cemetery, Okopowa 49/51.
Duration of the walk: about 2 hours.
Note: cemetery entrance tickets are required — 20 zł.
Gentlemen: please cover your heads.
The walk will be led by KASIA — blogger and a licensed Warsaw guide.
Tel.: 505 023 782
Participation in the walk is free; however, a tip after the walk will be welcome.
We gently remind you that we put a great deal of substantive and documentary work into preparing the walk so that it is as attractive as possible for you.
