About the event
I invite you to an afternoon walk during which we will discover the Old Town's secrets: extraordinary, scary, funny, dazzling stories.
During the walk we will learn, among other things:
- who exposed their backside to the east
- how two princely rakes ended and what resulted from it
- how a church was stolen from the Augustinians
- where the "courtly epithet" came from
- where the "most decent" house of pleasures was
- what the Jan Kiliński monument has to do with Michalina Wisłocka
- whether Stefek serves breakfasts
- how syphilis was treated in the past
- who the celebrities of the gallows were
- who attempted to assassinate the king
- how the NFZ worked in the times of King Stanisław Augustus
- when Piłsudski became Ramesses XIII
- where we will see exceptionally impressive doors
And many other colorful stories about people and places connected with the Old Town.
Start: 15.03 (Sunday), 17:00, by St. Anne's Church (Krakowskie Przedmieście 68).
End: Jezuicka Street.
The walk will be led by KASIA - a licensed Warsaw guide and a native Varsovian from Powiśle.
