VOCAL CREATIVITY – workshops for voice and imagination

We invite you to a unique vocal workshop where you will discover what vocal creativity is and how to use it consciously – regardless of your level of advancement.

What is vocal creativity? It is the ability to creatively use your own voice, musical awareness and imagination. It is the courage to experiment, improvise and express yourself in sound – at your individual vocal level.

Important: each participant should bring a sheet of paper or a notebook and something to write with.

Additionally: on the same day we invite you to individual vocal consultations (40 min), which will start from 14:30.

About the instructor: dr hab. Anna Kamalska – jazz vocalist, composer, lyricist and poet. Graduate of the Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and the Singing Study in Poznań. In 2013 she defended her doctoral degree in vocal arts at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, and in 2019 she obtained the habilitated doctor degree at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź.

As a lecturer she has pursued her passion for over 20 years. Since 2014 she has been employed at the Academy of Music in Łódź, where she conducts classes including voice emission, song interpretation and jazz scatting improvisation. In Katowice, at the Acting School of the Silesian Theatre, she has been teaching voice emission and ear training since 2016.

She was a soloist of the band Brathanki; she has collaborated with, among others, Krzysztof Cugowski, Zdzisława Sośnicka and Beata Kozidrak with the band Bajm. She has performed over 2000 concerts in Poland and abroad. In 2012 she recorded her original album 'Skrawki życia' (doctoral dissertation), and in 2019 she released the album 'Co Ci mogę dać' under the pseudonym ANNKA. She is a member of the Border Poets Club in Krosno, where she published the poetry collection 'Skrawki życia'.

She runs original workshops for various groups (children, youth, adults) at a national and international level. She is the author of scientific publications on vocal topics, sits on juries of festivals and vocal competitions and leads the scientific circle 'Miłośnicy Popkultury' at the Institute of Jazz and Popular Vocal Studies.
