Dear Residents of Kolonia, Neighbors, Lovers of Warsaw, ----------------------------------------------------------------- We are delighted to invite you to the third edition of the festival OPEN DAY REDUTA WAWELSKA, which this year is titled "FRAGMENTS OF MEMORIES." This is a unique event during which we once again open the gate of the tenement house at WAWELSKA 60, unveiling its hidden garden courtyard – a green enclave, usually inaccessible to guests. On September 6th, the Reduta space will become a place for meeting, celebrating history, and neighborhood togetherness. "FRAGMENTS OF MEMORIES" is a story about the intangible heritage of Kolonia, about what is invisible yet fundamental: the memory of the first community, the values of cooperation, and the architectural vision of Marian Lalewicz. It is the identity of a place that has survived not only the test of time but also the dramatic events of the 20th century. The Cooperative House of the Ministry of Railways Employees earned the name "REDUTA WAWELSKA," being the last point of resistance for Warsaw Uprising fighters in Ochota – a tenement house defended like a fortress. Today, it still serves its original function, being our home, a place full of life, embodying the idea of conscious neighborhood and urban community. The festival program includes: - Historical walk with a guide - Lectures and discussions about the heritage and identity of Kolonia - Exhibition - Concerts - Evening dance party with live music - Outdoor film screening The event is partnered by the Ochota District of Warsaw, and the festival is under the honorary patronage of the Warsaw Uprising Museum.
