Jazdów 10/5 More about the project: https://fb.me/e/4eDpmmwic ☗ About the tour: I first came to the Jazdów Estate fifteen years ago. A friend brought me here for a green puff. I couldn't believe that behind the Embassies and Ujazdowski Park there were wooden houses, and people lived inside! When I timidly peeked through the windows and observed them, I felt like I was hallucinating, that I wasn't looking at people but at some mythical creatures who, like Moomins, lived in an enclave of happiness and adventure. A few years later, another friend involved me in efforts to protect Jazdów from demolition. That’s when I got to know this place better and fully understood the scale of its uniqueness and its magnetic pull. This force drew me in like a black hole. I stayed. Now - twelve years later, Jazdów has lost much of the magic that originally attracted me to it. It’s been covered, like a thick layer of dust, by papers, emails, organizational matters, and interpersonal tensions. Join me on a journey where, through butoh dance, we will try to rediscover this magic together. ✹ Wojciech Matejko - sociologist, cultural animator, butoh performer. Co-founder and board member of the Open Jazdów Partnership. Coordinator of many Jazdów projects (e.g., Open Jazdów University, LABA Festival, Open Jazdów Festival, Museum Night "Art in the Bushes") and animator of the estate community. Co-initiator of the Warsaw Network of Local Hosts. Author of the social innovation "Cultural Self-Help Center" implemented, among others, in Free Jazdów and awarded the Warsaw Cultural Education Award 2023. Learned butoh from Atsushi Takenouchi, Ken Mai, Yuko Kaseki, Dai Matsuoka, Tetsuro Fukuhara, Sylwia Hanff. In the lunar year 2018/19, he carried out a lunar cycle - dance rituals on every new moon and full moon - a total of 24 performances in public spaces in Poland and Europe, performed exactly at the moment of the culmination of the full moons and new moons. In 2019, he directed the play "Offended Guru," shown, among others, at the Theater Studio and many international theater festivals in Poland. He has appeared in films and music videos (e.g., for Joanna John, Alameda 5, TVP Kultura, the 360 film "Sector," and the film "The Day I Found a Girl in the Trash"). ▲ Organizer: Free Jazdów, an independent estate of Finnish houses.
