👀 What will the workshop be about?
/The body is an inseparable element of human experience and a key resource in the healing process from trauma. The integration of somatic techniques in psychotherapy allows for more effective trauma treatment, taking into account its impact on the nervous system and the body. Persistent symptoms, such as dissociation or increased muscle tension, are the result of disruptions in the functioning of the autonomic nervous system. Working with the body allows access to deep layers of experiences, often inexpressible in words, and supports the integration of emotions, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Somatic techniques can be used as a complement to other therapeutic approaches, such as Schema Therapy, enriching the therapeutic process and helping patients achieve deeper emotional, cognitive, and bodily integration.

Working with the body in therapy allows for:
/⭐ Regulation of the nervous system: Somatic techniques support the restoration of balance between the sympathetic system (responsible for the fight or flight response) and the parasympathetic system (responsible for relaxation and regeneration), enabling patients to effectively regulate their emotions.
/⭐ Processing memories rooted in the body: Through contact with bodily sensations, the patient can recognize and integrate unprocessed traumatic memories.
/⭐ Increasing body awareness: Somatic techniques teach patients to notice and regulate subtle signals coming from the body, which fosters awareness of their own emotions and needs.

/💗 you will learn how to enrich schema therapy techniques with somatic techniques, e.g., in imagery work and chair work.
